      Cloud Engineer - Salary: £55,000 - £75,000

      We are currently recruiting for a Cloud Engineer with a strong programming background, who loves to be hands-on and gets enjoyment out of solving complex problems. If you like to challenge the status quo and think differently, we would really like you to be a part of our exciting new team.

      We are flexible with location, however traveling to our London office at least once per fortnight will be required.

      A bit about the job:

      Aviva Zero is a greenfield Personal Lines insurer set with the ambition to be the best in the UK market. It is currently scaling the use of its cutting edge serverless AWS stack to other use cases and business areas. It will combine the pace, focus, and test & learn mentality of a start-up with the expertise, and financial backing of Aviva.

      As a Cloud Engineer, you will work with stakeholders, SME’s and the rest of the team, to deliver innovative and first-class AWS based services and infrastructure that enable great customer outcomes. You will use your experience to contribute improvements to operational standards and practices at a platform level, with a focus on cyber security, to ensure the quality and efficiency of delivery in an agile environment.

      A requirement of this position is being on call in case of an emergency, on a scheduled basis.

      Essential skills and experience we’re looking for :

      • Well-versed in modern cloud native architectures using infrastructure as code in any of the following providers: AWS, Azure or Google cloud

      • Familiar with the secure development lifecycle with agile DevSecOps practices such as CICD, cloud infrastructure security, identity and access management, and threat modelling.

      • Provide support to analyse and respond to platform related incidents.

      • Experience developing across a wide variety of programming languages with an appetite to learn and implement new languages such as ‘Go’.

      • You appreciate the bigger picture, you are confident to contribute your ideas to the team on new technologies, solutions, and delivery approaches.

      Additional Information

      • Our Tech Stack – (experience with all of the below is not required)

      • AWS: Lambda, ECS, Dynamo DB, S3, Event Bridge, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, Sagemaker, VPC, Security Hub, Control Tower and Cloud Trail

      • Extra: CDK as infrastructure as Code, Snowflake, LaunchDarkly, Pagerduty

      • Programming languages: we use Go heavily along with Python and Typescript

      • Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
