CNC Machine Operator - $18 - $22 Hourly

Job Description

We develop and manufacture automotive and transportation-related components with a focus on valve timing controls in cars. As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for operating CNC lathes and mills in a production environment. You will primarily run and monitor a line of CNC machines (3-5 machines), perform quality checks on parts using plug gauges, micrometers, and calipers, and handle minor tool changes. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing daily preventive maintenance tasks such as basic cleaning, changing coolant/oil, and greasing.

Responsibilities

• Run and monitor a line of 3-5 CNC machines
• Make offsets as needed
• Perform quality checks on parts using plug gauges, micrometers, and calipers
• Perform daily preventive maintenance tasks including basic cleaning, changing coolant/oil, and greasing
• Handle minor tool changes such as changing an insert or bar in a lathe

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of CNC operating experience
• 1 year of experience with quality tools (caliper, micrometers, plug gauge)
• 1 year of experience performing offsets/adjustments
• Attention to detail
• Understanding of decimals
• Comfortable lifting 40 lbs

Work Environment

The work environment is temperature-controlled, although it can still get hot near the machines. Fans are provided. Steel-toe shoes are required, and all other personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses) will be provided. All shifts will train Monday-Thursday from 7 am to 5:30 pm for 4-6 weeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monroe, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
