      Carlton Forge Works produces seamless rolled rings as well as open and closed-die forgings for the aerospace, gas turbine, industrial, commercial, and nuclear industries while using one of the most extensive lines of equipment and truly skilled craftsmen anywhere.

      We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Co-Op to support Manufacturing Operations as follows:

      • Tasked with various short/long term projects to gather and analyze data and drive projects required for efficient design/processing of forgings for seamless rolled rings and open and closed die forgings
      • Exposed to manufacturing environments, forging processes, manufacturing process planning, heat treatment, machining, testing, maintenance, etc.
      • Work with vendors to purchase material essential to production process
      • Design components to address various issues regarding safety and improvement around the facility and work with vendors to have your designs fabricated
      • Learn the business structure of the company
      • Have the opportunity to pitch your own projects ideas to upper management to improve forging processes and/or reduce variable costs
      • Conduct 6S audits of the facility to analyze current safety procedures and propose safety improvements to manufacturing processes and facility

      Required Qualifications:

      1. Minimum at a sophomore standing at an accredited 4-year university
      2. Must be working towards bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Material Science Engineering
      3. A strong technical aptitude along with the ability to work independently, yet interact closely with other departments, customers, and vendors
      4. Must have strong cross functional team skills and excellent verbal, written and computer skills required as well as mathematical, analytical, problem solving and organizations skills
      5. Experience with Excel and CAD modeling is a plus
      6. Position will be flexible to work around breaks, weekly school schedule, etc.
      7. Students are expected to work between 16-22 hours per week depending on class schedules.
