Job Description
- Req#: 16947
- Tasked with various short/long term projects to gather and analyze data and drive projects required for efficient design/processing of forgings for seamless rolled rings and open and closed die forgings
- Exposed to manufacturing environments, forging processes, manufacturing process planning, heat treatment, machining, testing, maintenance, etc.
- Work with vendors to purchase material essential to production process
- Design components to address various issues regarding safety and improvement around the facility and work with vendors to have your designs fabricated
- Learn the business structure of the company
- Have the opportunity to pitch your own projects ideas to upper management to improve forging processes and/or reduce variable costs
- Conduct 6S audits of the facility to analyze current safety procedures and propose safety improvements to manufacturing processes and facility
- Minimum at a sophomore standing at an accredited 4-year university
- Must be working towards bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Material Science Engineering
- A strong technical aptitude along with the ability to work independently, yet interact closely with other departments, customers, and vendors
- Must have strong cross functional team skills and excellent verbal, written and computer skills required as well as mathematical, analytical, problem solving and organizations skills
- Experience with Excel and CAD modeling is a plus
- Position will be flexible to work around breaks, weekly school schedule, etc.
- Students are expected to work between 16-22 hours per week depending on class schedules.
