      Coach Cleaner

      Coach cleaners perform cleaning of Commuter Rail passenger coaches.

      Knowledge and Skills

      • Ability to communicate in English with relative ease and work well with peers.
      • Must work well with little or no supervision and have excellent organizational skill.
      • Ability to pass required certification testing training.
      • Prefer experience with Bio-Hazard cleaning and removal.

      Experience

      • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
      • Must have satisfactory prior work history.
      • Prior cleaning experience preferred.
      • Requires regular attendance and dependability.
      • Ability to communicate in English with relative ease and work well with peers.

      Key Accountabilities

      • Must complete all work in compliance with FRA, MBTA and Keolis Commuter Services standards.
      • Responsible for interior and exterior cleaning of passenger coaches, including walls, floors, windows, seats, seatbacks, vestibules, bulkheads and toilets.
      • Toilet cleaning at all locations.
      • Responsible for Bio-hazard cleaning/removal.
      • Pick up trash, sweep, and mop and remove graffiti and gum.
      • Comply with all related safety rules and procedures and report all hazards as required.
      • Must document job tasks or work performed manually or electronically, and submit this material as required.
      • Must be able to travel and work at all Commuter Rail locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island in all weather conditions.
      • Attend and participate in all assigned training, specifically safety and security related.
      • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
      • Ability to be on-call at given times to respond to cleaning emergencies.
      • Other duties as assigned during emergencies.

        Physical / Mental Demands

        • Repeated lifting of up to 40 lbs.
        • Repetitive pushing/pulling of objects in excess of 40 lbs.
        • Work involves walking, talking, and hearing, using both hands to handle, feel and/or reaching with both hands and both arms.
        • The work performed inside and/or outside and includes exposure to extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, mechanical hazards and electrical hazards.
        • Position requires ability to climb onto rail equipment.
        • Visits to various outlying maintenance points in all weather conditions.
        • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
        • Must be able to reach 6 – 12 inches above head to perform work.
        • Manual dexterity required – fine motor skills.
        • Must be free from color blindness.
        • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching or kneeling required.
        • Ability to perform all duties above.

        Additional Statements

        Drug and alcohol screening. Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen. Also, contingent upon receiving a favorable background check. Must pass a physical examination.
