      At CableCom , as a Coax Splicer , you’ll splice, test, and repair cables & wires in both indoor and outdoor settings, read, create and maintain splicing diagrams, maintain activities surrounding the assigned work site(s), and take splicing field notes.

      What you’ll do as a Coax Splicer

      • Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of cable

      • Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation

      • Basic daily maintenance of provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicle

      • Self-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications

      • Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed (potentially climb poles)

      • Complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built and track daily production

      • Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts

      • Frequently work independently

      • Other splicing related duties as assigned




      What you’ll need

      • To be 18 years of age or older
      • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
      • Ability to distinguish colors

      • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

      • Possess a valid driver’s license (class "C" minimum) or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position (possibly class "B" - light commercial)

      • Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
      • Must be authorized to work in the United States

      Additional qualifications

      • Ability to read and build from blueprints and/or wire diagrams
      • Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber

      • OSP telecommunication construction experience; cable experience

      • Experience in splicing, balancing, and documenting CATV systems

      Physical abilities & exposures

      • Routinely: Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance. Must be able to work in all weather conditions
      • Occasionally: Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary



      Salary Range $27 - $32 per hour.
