Overview

• Tier One Technologies is looking for a Senior COBOL developer with SQL Queries and SIT/CAT testing experience.
• This will be a 100% remote Contract-to-Hire position.
• SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, implement and manage software programs as well as testing and evaluating new programs.
• Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
• Write and analyze complex business systems code using COBOL, CICS, VSAM, JCL, TSO/ISPF, FTP, XPEDITER, FileAid and Changeman.
• Writing and tuning complex SQL Queries in DB2 environment.
• Writing and tuning PL/SQL in DB2 environment.
• Develop quality assurance procedures executing the Mainframe SIT and CAT batch processing cycles and deploy other software tools, processes and metrics.
• Act as team leader on projects. Participate in development of software user manuals.
• Consult with engineering staff to evaluate software-hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performance requirements.

Qualifications

• A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field, then 4 additional years of related experience is required
• 8+ years of Mainframe development experience.
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum processes and management tools (preferably VersionOne)
• Familiarity with IT Service Management Systems (preferably ServiceNow).
• Familiarity with security certificates and how they are used to protect transmission of data between various computer devices.
• Must understand and analyze network firewalls and how they are implemented to provide secure enclaves to protect servers and database resources.
• Ability to perform analysis of customer requirements and to design related technical solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (ability to translate between business and technical concepts).
• All candidates must be US Citizens or have permanent residence status (Green Card).
• Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
• Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
• Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years. Military Service excluded.
