      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for patients receiving services at the employer
      - Ensure accurate assignment of DRGs for all patients
      - Abstract all coded data in a timely and precise manner into the abstracting system
      - Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology in coding processes
      - Adhere to California and National reporting requirements in coding

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Minimum of 3 years' experience with inpatient acute care coding
      - Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding with a strong understanding of DRG payment methodology
      - High school diploma or GED required
      - Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) required upon hire
      - Completion of courses in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding from an accredited coding program or comparable level of education preferred

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Associate degree in health information science or bachelor's degree in health information management
      - Experience with Coding Clinic guidelines and the pathological basis of disease
