What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide second-level review of billing performances to ensure compliance with legal and procedural policies
- Audit medical record documentation to identify under-coded and/or up-coded services and prepare reports of findings
- Interact with physicians and patient care providers regarding billing and documentation policies
- Complete accounts receivable follow-up processes, including claim corrections, appeals, and payor follow-ups
- Train and support medical providers and billing specialists on coding compliance and regulatory provisions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Obstetrics Gynecology Coder (COBGC) certification required
- E/M Coding experience required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a billing, coding, or back office support role in the medical industry
- Advanced knowledge of medical coding and billing systems and regulatory requirements
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- OB/GYN experience
- Associate's degree from an accredited university
- Experience with Athena software
- Knowledge of auditing concepts and principles
- Ability to travel (up to 25%, as needed)
