What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct audits on documentation, coding, and billing performed at ChristianaCare entities
- Develop and deliver training programs and educational materials to address deficiencies identified in audits
- Provide written audit guidance and respond to external audit findings
- Validate code systems and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Monitor case mix reports and identify patterns and variations
- Review and interpret medical information and classify it into appropriate code groups
- Assist with coding system testing, troubleshooting, and upgrades
What is Required (Qualifications):
- RHIA or RHIT certification/degree
- CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certification
- ICD 10 approved trainer through AHIMA preferred
- College credits in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Two years of auditing experience in an acute care, teaching hospital
- Four years of coding/DRG experience in an acute care, teaching hospital
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- CDIP or CCDS certification
- Experience as an auditor in a healthcare-related field
