What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct coding and billing training for physicians, coders, and other personnel, including developing training materials and assessing competency
- Perform quality assurance reviews and audits, providing appropriate feedback
- Monitor coding and billing regulations to ensure compliance with governmental and payer regulations
- Investigate and analyze denial trends to identify root causes and patterns
- Maintain an up-to-date resource library and assist in ongoing training related to coding and compliance
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of a college or university degree in a related field
- 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding systems
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance
- Proven experience in medical record chart documentation review
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certified Professional Coder (AAPC) or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician based (AHIMA)
- Four to five years of demonstrated knowledge of coding and E/M coding experience
- Experience in group education with provider audiences
- Familiarity with Epic PB Resolute/EpicCare
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word
