What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform CPT and ICD10 coding through abstraction of medical records, focusing on Evaluation and Management services
- Provide feedback to physicians regarding documentation and coding practices
- Train physicians and staff on billing and coding for their specialties
- Review and communicate updates on billing and coding guidelines with providers
- Collaborate with operational areas to resolve coding reimbursement issues and assist with appeals
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification
- Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in a relevant role
- Minimum 94% accuracy on the organization's coding test
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in a Health Information Management program accredited by CAHIIM
- Previous experience with physician coding
