What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform coding and related duties using established billing office policies accurately and timely
- Assign or verify CPT and ICD-10 CM coding and modifiers based on documentation
- Monitor charge flow and liaise with managers and billing personnel to ensure accurate billing
- Identify, report, and resolve coding and reimbursement issues to reduce denials
- Maintain understanding of Teaching Physician and provider documentation policies and participate in orientations

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 CM coding
- Understanding of medical insurance guidelines and governmental policies
- Detail-oriented with progressive computer skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team and department staff
- Must meet or exceed established production rate and performance standards

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in charge processing, reconciliation, and billing issue resolution
- Familiarity with protocols related to coding and billing practices
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or coding environment
