What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Determine if applied coding matches provider documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding coding errors and disputes
- Review claim edits and forms for accuracy and correct coding
- Retrieve and submit appropriate medical records as needed
- Effectively communicate with healthcare professionals to classify services provided

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer systems
- Proficiency in CPT and AMA guidelines as well as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and management skills
- Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills
- Basic to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with NextGen tasking system or similar healthcare software
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA guidelines
- Strong logical and critical thinking skills
