Job Description

- Perform research on various computer systems and document customer information regarding status, payment expectations, notes of conversations and other relevant information
- Receive / make phone calls to payers using relevant systems (e.g., auto - dialer systems) to request payment for services
- Communicate with external collection vendors to exchange information about actions being taken to collect on accounts
- Create and distribute correspondence to payers (e.g., emails; dunning letters; system - generated letters; invoices) to inform them of needed actions (e.g., reminder of payment due; final demand for payment)
- Communicate (e.g., emails; phone; written correspondence) potential solutions or available services to payers
- Record correspondence information (e.g., dates; action taken) within relevant collection systems
- High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
- 1+ years of collections experience within the healthcare industry
- Experience with working within a heavy call volume environment
- Experience with using Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (data entry, sort, filter, and work within tables), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
- Ability to work any shift between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- 1+ years of Revenue Cycle experience
- Knowledge of CPT - 4 / HCPC / DRG / ICD / HCPCs
- Revenue code experience
- Familiarity with HIPAA privacy guidelines
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
- Strong decision making and problem - solving skills
- Being able to work independently with minimal supervision

This position is full - time (40 hours / week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work any shift between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
We offer weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be based off their schedule.
