- Language Requirement: Various language requirements. English only, French only OR Bilingual competencies. Some positions require English oral, reading, and writing. Some positions required French oral, reading and writing.
- Police Record Check: The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Records and Judicial Matters Check with the Police Services detachment in their jurisdiction to the City of Ottawa’s satisfaction.; Police record checks completed by a third-party company will not be accepted.
- You will initially be paid 95% of your starting rate of pay, in accordance with the collective agreement.

The mandate of the Revenue Service is to ensure that all revenue functions at the City of Ottawa are undertaken with a strategic corporate outlook, reflect industry best practices, and comply with statutory regulations to meet the expectations of Council and provide equitable services to the citizens of Ottawa.
As a member of the Collections & Cash Handling Branch in Revenue Services, you are responsible for carrying out the City’s in-house collections processes in Taxation, Water, Overpayment Recovery, Provincial Offences and Accounts Receivable. You act as a second-tier response to client queries, provide functional supervision within the unit, and are required to resolve collection issues in a manner that maintains a high level of customer satisfaction to clients, which has a direct impact on the City’s image and overall customer satisfaction levels.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of 3 year degree or diploma in Business Administration or related field
Minimum of 3 years of direct (front line) customer interactive inquiry/problem solving experience, telephone and in person, dealing directly with collections including 1 year of finance experience
Experience working within a municipal government environment is desirable
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES
Completion of Municipal Tax Administration Program (MTAP) from OMTRA for specific positionsKNOWLEDGE
