      About the Opportunity:
      We currently seek an experienced Collections Paralegal to lead, develop and grow our collections team and processes nationwide, with a primary focus on Texas. As the Collections Supervisor you will serve as a front-line resource for our facility clients relating to all aspects of collections, work with internal and external counsel for collection purposes, and eventually manage the collections team and processes.


      Key Responsibilities:
      • Review facility debt reports
      • Develop processes and strategies to optimize collections
      • Research and review asset search reports
      • Perform skip traces and asset, judgment, lien, and bankruptcy searches
      • Investigate public records for assets, including real estate records and prior judgments
      • Communicate and correspond with debtors for account resolution
      • Negotiate settlements, set-up and monitor payment plans
      • Coordinate with facilities and legal team on the commencement of the collection process
      • Communicate with outside attorneys on the collection of arrears
      • Prepare collection accounts for suit
      • Assist facilities with small claims court paperwork and process
      • Draft pleadings
      • Coordinate service of process
      • Prepare defaults, default packages, court judgments
      • Prepare abstracts of judgment, judgment liens and releases
      • Prepare writs of execution, bank levies, wage levies
      • Prepare acknowledgement of satisfaction of judgments
      • Provide trainings to facility clients

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Texas Debt Collection Practices Act
      • Knowledge of rules of civil procedure and local rules of court collection matters
      • Familiarity with Judicial Council forms and procedures for filings in collection matters
      • Knowledge of computerized information retrieval systems and research systems, including court websites
      • Ability to write clearly and concisely
      • Knowledge of probate and filing claims against estates
      • Ability to prioritize and multitask
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Detail-oriented
      • Self-starter who can work without extensive oversight

      Required Education and Experience:
      ABA-recognized paralegal certificate
      5 years minimum of in-house or legal department collection experience


      Additional Information:

      This full-time, exempt position will be remote or based at one of our Service Centers in Orange County, California, Dallas, Texas or Arizona depending on location of hire.

      We are committed to providing a competitive benefits and compensation package which includes a salary range of between $75,000 to $90,000 (DOE) and may be eligible for bonus, medical/dental/vision coverage, company-provided life insurance, 401(k) with company match, and sick/vacation plans.
