      Job summary

      The post holders will be leading transformation and improvement projects aligned to the priorities of the ICB and the Barnsley Place Partnership.

      This is a fixed term/secondment post until 31 March 2024.

      We are looking for people who have experience of commissioning/service improvement, strong skills in project management, monitoring and evaluation and want to work in a place that really values integrated commissioning and integrated delivery of health and care services. Procurement skills would be desirable but not essential.

      Main duties of the job

      The post holders will play a key role contributing to the delivery of the transformation and improvement programme in Barnsley, taking responsibility for leading projects; ensuring they are effectively planned and managed.

      Supporting the delivery of the ICB Commissioning Intentions through all aspects of the commissioning cycle e.g. pre-engagement; needs assessment, procurement; monitoring.

      The post holders will be required to create and maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including BHNFT; SWYPFT; primary care; cross boundary providers, other ICBs, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, NHS England, Clinical Networks.

      Desirable

      • Professional qualification i.e. RN/SW/AHP.

      • Experience of working in a health or social care commissioning environment.
      • Experience of procurement within health or social care sector.
      • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment.
      • Demonstrated experience of leading projects across multi organisations in complex and challenging environments.
      • Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects with senior external stakeholders and partners.
      • Experience of writing business cases/cases for change reports and service specifications.
      • Experience of managing and mitigating risks.
      • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at Senior Management team level.
      • Demonstrated experience of working in a Healthcare or social care environment.
      • Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures.
      • Experience of managing a team without direct line management.
