Drive a world-class public relations discipline across the Home Ecosystem portfolio with a key focus on Yahoo News and surrounding properties
Create and activate creative consumer campaign concepts that map to business objectives while earning media coverage and driving consumer usage
Lead concept creation and execution of communications strategies including earned through traditional and social media channels
Provide strategic direction and develop annual plan that ladders up to business objectives
Involved in all stages of the communications initiatives -- from concept formulation, message development, senior strategic counsel to execution and results-oriented evaluation
Manage/oversee a digital PR outreach program and deliver positive coverage and improved influencer perceptions
Provide PR counsel and messaging and positioning guidance to key stakeholders, internally and externally
Keep a pulse on industry, audience trends, and stories
10+ years of relevant experience in an agency or in-house role – with a focus on building brands
The ideal candidates will have relevant communications experience coupled with deep experience launching consumer tech products
Candidates will likely have a BS/BA and ideally also have an advanced degree in communications.
The ideal candidate will have either managed an agency with successful results and/or represented a top global consumer brand from the agency side and have demonstrated successes in a cross-functional role.
Must have a hearty appetite for growth and proven success managing communications campaigns working together with marketing functions.
Must be adept with current market trends and social media channels, have a strong network of media and industry contacts; as well as the ability to work gracefully with senior executives, engineers, product teams, marketing and business units, locally and internationally.
Strong organizational skills; clear and strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute multi-platform communications strategies
Must work well under deadlines and understand budget constraints.
Clear, concise communication skills, particularly written communication, are a must.

Yahoo is looking for a communications professional to lead work with the Home Ecosystem group, which includes News, Mail, and Search, with a key focus on the Yahoo News, the #1 news destination for consumers. The role will also partner across other areas of the Yahoo Home Ecosystem. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the way the products are perceived by key audiences around the globe, from consumers to advertisers to partners. This role is responsible for improving and defining our leadership in the space and ideation, while driving positive sentiment and amplification in the media, globally.
This individual will be responsible for the development, execution and measurement of all PR communications strategies, initiatives and tactics; drives the day-to-day activities; and ensures that metrics/results capture the goals and effectiveness of all campaigns and programs. They will also be responsible for fostering collaboration with internal stakeholders across the Yahoo News and Mail organization and serve as the primary interface.
Success will be measured by the ability to earn and drive high-quality, perception-changing coverage across media channels.

The compensation for this position ranges from $129,210.00 - $281,305.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
