      About the Program

      The NCIA internship is a 6-month program based at one of our key hubs in The Netherlands, Belgium or Portugal. Our internship opportunities start from either 1 March or 1 September with the start date being dependent on the timeline to secure the required security clearance to work within the NATO community. During an internship, you will join and support a diverse international team and simultaneously learn from our experts via on-the-job training, working independently on purposeful projects or initiatives during your tenure.

      About the Internship

      Internship duration: 6 months

      Location: Brussels, Belgium

      Executive Management (EM) leads cross-Agency activities to ensure that the General Manager’s (GM) and Chief of Staff’s (COS) direction and guidance is implemented in line with their intent. EM leads the Agency Executive Management Board and the key relationship with NATO governance with the NCI Agency Strategic Plan being developed and overseen by the team. EM is also responsible for the proactive planning, management and prioritisation of critical Agency wide investments and risks and coordination of internal and external engagements with stakeholders, senior committees and boards. EM also guides Agency communications, externally and internally with staff.

      The NCIA Communications Team is seeking a dynamic creator to assist with all communications efforts. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of communications while working in an organization that contributes to the mission and purpose of NATO. The Communications Intern will work with a team and independently, to support the communication efforts of NCIA’s goals and objectives through social media, external and internal platforms.

      The Internship will include:

      · Drafting and editing internal and external content for all communication channels, including social media.

      · Keeping track of events, project deliverables and other communications opportunities.

      · Helping to implement internal and external communications strategies and projects.

      · Providing administrative support to the Communications Manager and the team when required.

      · Liaising with internal stakeholders to identify communication opportunities.

      · Collecting and analysing data across all digital channels for evaluation purposes.

      · Maintaining calendars and appointments.

      About you:

      The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role is:

      · A degree in communications, marketing, or related field.

      · Strong attention to detail.

      · Excellent multitasking and organizational skills.

      · Creativity and proactivity

      · Strong understanding of social media platforms.

      · Knowledge of design and photo and video-editing software is an asset.

      Content publishing :

      Contributes, under instruction, to publication support activities. Supports the collation of data. Uses established publishing processes according to appropriate guidelines.

      Customer service support :

      Receives and handles requests for service, following agreed procedures. Promptly allocates calls as appropriate. Logs incidents and service requests and maintains relevant records.

      Marketing :

      Collects and monitors results of marketing activities. Assists in market research and data collection providing summary reports of their findings. Understands the basic principles of marketing, and tools used by the organisation for planning, implementing and monitoring marketing activities.

      Eligibility Criteria

      To be eligible to apply for our internship program, you will need to meet the following criteria:

      · You are a national of a NATO member country

      · You are currently studying towards a university-level degree or have recently graduated in the past 12 months

      · A thorough knowledge of one of the two NATO languages, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of the other is desirable. Most of the work of the NCI Agency is conducted in the English language.

      Application Process:

      The application process for an internship at NCIA is:

      Ø Apply via the NCIA Careers site by 23:59 CET 16th March 2025

      Ø If selected to progress to the first stage evaluation this will consist of a logic, numeracy and behavioral gamification exercises in addition to on-demand video questions aligned to the requirements of the internship

      Ø Virtual interviews will take place in the month of April

      Ø Tentative offer to be presented to successful candidates in early May

      Compensation

      Belgium

      You will be compensated at a fixed taxable rate of 1,286.09 EUR per month, based on 38 hours of work per week and for reasonable travel expenses to start on day 1 and to return to your home location once the internship is complete.
