- Strategic Communications and Messaging
- Articulate and amplify CAC’s voice through mission-driven communications that highlight the organization’s initiatives and achievements.
- Refine CAC’s core messaging and operationalize a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with CAC’s mission and goals.
- Implement effective communication campaigns that promote the organization's vision and values.
- Content Creation and Internal Communications
- Create and manage engaging content for various platforms, including email campaigns, blogs, social media, and the CAC website.
- Develop templates, style guides, and policies to support staff and ensure consistency and alignment of CAC’s voice across all communications.
- Create systems and tools to streamline communications efforts organization-wide, ensuring staff and leadership are aligned and informed.
- Media Relations and Outreach
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists to expand CAC’s reach and visibility.
- Write and distribute press releases, pitch stories, and coordinate media opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison to internal teams, ensuring staff are informed about communications priorities and equipped to share cohesive messaging while representing CAC.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Monitor and analyze communications performance metrics to inform strategy and demonstrate impact.
- Provide regular reports and recommendations for optimizing communications efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of professional experience in communications, content strategy, or public relations, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency with social media management tools, email marketing platforms, and CMS (WordPress preferred).
- Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to remain stationary at a desk for extended periods while using a computer.
- Sufficient visual acuity to view monitors and read text/data.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, including speaking and comprehending conversations.

About the Job Opportunity
The Communications Manager is a critical role responsible for crafting and delivering effective communications campaigns across multiple platforms to amplify our mission and values. This position works collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to develop and execute strategic messaging that aligns with CAC’s vision, deepens audience engagement, and fosters a strong connection with our community.
The Communications Manager oversees institutional messaging, brand consistency, and media relations while staying attuned to industry trends and emerging technologies to effectively reach our target audiences.

Job Specifications, Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position scheduled to begin as soon as possible. We are open to remote candidates located in the United States. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package for full-time staff positions.
We are pleased to offer a salary range of $67,200 - $84,000 (based on experience) for this position. Compensation ranges are established based on a grade system designed to ensure competitiveness with industry standards as well as pay equity. Final compensation will be determined based on the specific qualifications of the candidate in relation to the salary grade and predetermined criteria.
