What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with subject matter experts and public affairs personnel
- Develop communication plans to reach diverse audiences within the military medical research community
- Conduct research and analysis to inform communication strategies and plans
- Write communication products, including talking points and public affairs guidance
- Define metrics to measure communication effectiveness and monitor program progress
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a similar relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Communications Specialist
- Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance
- Experience working with the Department of Defense
- Knowledge of integrated strategic communications plans, media relations, and strategic outreach
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Completion of Defense Information School (DINFOS) Public Affairs training
- Professional certification in strategic communications from an accredited organization, such as the Public Relations Society of America
