- Carry out venepuncture and other appropriate healthcare procedures in patients own home or in community health care settings, acting within the procedures outlined in the Phlebotomy competency framework
- Undertake appropriate patient care assessments as required, such as baseline observations
- Escalate any concerns regarding patients welfare to the registered members of the Integrated Community Team in a timely manner
- Once a visit is complete, enter contemporaneous notes in the relevant patient information system
- Use DCHS patient information systems as needed, including accepting e-referrals
- Recognise the importance of confidentiality and sensitivity of issues at all times, and be able to act using the utmost discretion and confidentiality
- Additional duties and ad hoc requests may be required within this role and the need to be flexible is essential

Job summary
We have a fabulous opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Phlebotomist to work with the Integrated Community Team within the community nursing teams in Swadlincote.
Hours of working would be between 8:30am and 4:30pm; over 5 days; Monday-Friday.
The post is full time, however, part time hours will be considered for the successful applicant.
Main duties of the job
Our team focusses on providing excellent patient-centred care to people. Therefore, it is essential that you have a keen interest and experience in phlebotomy.
Other skills will be required and we are happy to teach the successful candidate how to provide simple health checks for our patients and how to complete the electronic documentation on SystmOne.

Care is delivered within patients own homes and care home settings.
