- Two (2) years of related experience may be substituted for one (1) year of education.
Assist County residents in identifying and obtaining various financial, health care, educational and other pertinent resources; provide community resource information and make appropriate referrals. Establishes professional working relationships with organizations to ensure that community resources being referred to are up to date. Follow up on referrals and provide any other referrals needed by the community.Reviews the needs of county residents that are being referred to identify community resources that the resident may be referred to.Identifies and respond to community members needs/concerns in order to make adequate referrals for appropriate agencies and assist in the development of resources to meet anticipated demands.Follows up timely on referrals received and ensures that county residents needs are met while identifying any potential resources still outstanding.Works with various partners of the Hidalgo County Prosperity Task Force to ensure the goals of the task force are being met.Ensures that identified residents of Hidalgo County are matched up with community resources that may provide job training to enhance the quality of life of the residents.Provides residents that are wishing to complete their high school education and/or continue their post-secondary education with resources available in the community.Works collaboratively with all entities that provide social services in order to ensure that a resident’s needs are met as a whole.Stays abreast of community resources available to assist county residents through financial, healthcare, educational and other services that may be needed.Prepares various reports and correspondence.Answers questions and provides information to the general public and assist in identifying resources.Attends and participate in staff meetings and workshops.Attends and participate in community events.Properly prepared and completes necessary program forms and documents.Maintains and updates participant computer files.Assists in clerical work as needed.Studies and analyzes operations and problems, and prepares reports of findings and recommendations.Recommends activities to produce a more effective program.Prepares justifications for procedural or policy changes.Provides technical assistance on program services.Works with program staff in determining trends and resolving technical problems.Ability to work well with others.May train others.Performs related work as assigned.Associate’s degree or higher.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
Must have a current valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s license.
Must be able to be insured by the County’s insurance carrier.Knowledge of community resources.Knowledge of public administration and management techniques; of statistical analysis processes; and of program planning and implementation.Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts.Ability to devise solutions to problems; to prepare reports; to develop and evaluate policies and procedures; to communicate effectively; and to train others.About the company
