      Job Description

      Reporting directly to the General Manager AH Iberia, the Companion animals Business Unit Director (BUD) will lead a very successful and senior team.

      The growing complexity of the animal health industry environment requires an evolution on the way we approach the market in order to ensure AH is perceived as differential on the way we create shared value with our key stakeholders. This go-to-market approach and evolved commercial & value offering in Companion Animal Business must be articulated by the Companion Animal BU Manager who will report directly to the General Manager AH Iberia to:

      • Achieve or exceed agreed CABU Financial, Strategic, Operational and Human Resources Priorities with effective people leadership and talent management and aligned with our company’s AH Strategic Framework.

      • Targets #1 position in the Companion Animal Market by developing and ensuring successful execution of short and long-term strategies, commercial plans, and financial & budgets maximization.
      • Ensure Customer Centricity, leading the organization to think and act as a customer, fully understand the evolving customer stakeholder landscape and needs and can deliver differentiated value that positively impacts the customer.
      • Pioneer Science & Technology through Innovation Mindset as a key pillar to differentiate our company and lead the Companion Animal Market.
      • Partner with global and regional species leadership in a matrix organizational structure as well as establishing and maintaining regular communications with R&D, Manufacturing, Legal/Compliance & Regulatory, GBO, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR on multiple activities to reach financial and non-financial objectives.

      Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

      PEOPLE

      • Leading, guiding and motivating the Companion Animal commercial team, ensuring diversity & inclusion and a one-team culture.
      • Keep companion animal team members professional growth as a team priority by ensuring Comprehensive Development approach to grow beyond functional responsibilities.
      • Articulate & follow up for personalized Employee Developmental Plans.
      • Develop Key Account Management capabilities and cross functional collaboration
      • Works with cluster and regional Human Resources and L&D to ensure impactful and successful practices including performance management, leadership capabilities, talent management and planning within the cluster
      • Foster healthy & fluent communications within the team and with other areas

      FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE

      • Accountable for achieving/exceeding Companion Animal Business Unit Financial Targets through an efficient and comprehensive P&L management.
      • Consistently meet or exceed Revenue, Operating Expense, Pre-tax Income targets
      • Achieve EI≥ 100
      • Leads the preparation of CABU operating budgets, sales and profit forecasts for Unit operations that are consistent with the short and long-term strategic business objectives of the Cluster & Region.
      • Prepares and executes the strategic planning of the company to ensure a sustainable accelerated growth of the business within the current and future market dynamics, enhancing a successful strategy within the foreseen sector megatrends.
      • Accelerate growth by diversifying business sources and prioritizing resources on core opportunities

      CUSTOMER AND MARKET

      • Maximize the Ectos + Vaccines Franchises potential as “preferred partner in protection” by,
      • Achieving or exceeding BRAVECTO financial targets (sales, MS, ND, # Bravecto dogs/clinic & av. # of pills/dog) ; strategic targets (state-of-the-art fleas & ticks protection)
      • Achieving or exceeding SCALIBOR financial targets (sales, MS, ND) through a successful management of its LCM (maximize its leadership position as preferred parasite control brand by Spanish Pet Parents and generating better position than competitors)
      • Positioning NOBIVAC Range as the preferred protocol for vaccination.
      • Delivering Vets “solutions” to support their access to “Comprehensive Parasite Control”
      • Stays informed of industry and competitive activities. Keeps GM and Regional Marketing informed of trends or other competitive initiatives that could impact the Unit Profit Centre.
      • Establishes and maintains regular contacts with key customers, distributors, key opinion leaders and all other relevant stakeholders across the market, promoting effective communications and inspiring customer loyalty.
      • Visits key customers on a regular basis accompanied by Sales colleagues to promote customer retention and sustained business growth
      • In alignment with GM and LT Spain, strengthen partnerships with policy makers to ensure key policies & regulations for Animal Health market contributing to One Health and ESG organizational efforts.
      • Evolve full Companion animals’ organization towards digital adoption: enabling digital & data analytic capabilities to drive business performance and implementing omnichannel customer engagement plans to match current and future customer needs.
      • Execute value-creating business development projects with traditional and non-traditional stakeholders.
      • Anticipates all future market trends and market opportunities that can impact our company business. Makes structural and commercial adjustments to maximize performance and market share and captures all potential growth opportunities

      • Operational excellence execution, fortifying our business for future growth including commercial effectiveness, pricing & GtN implementation.
      • Implement MAXX as key tool for customer information & mgmt. as well as data analytic capabilities to drive business performance.

      Qualifications, Skills & Experience

      • Degree qualified Health Sciences/Veterinary Science preferred or Business, ideally with postgraduate degree (e.g., MBA)
      • Fluent in Spanish & English
      • Min. 5 years in senior line leadership position with substantial experience of working in a highly-matrix network and ideally in a role with significant P&L responsibility.
      • A deep understanding of the animal health industry, market trends, and business environment
      • Preferred: Significant Marketing & Commercial experience in the Spanish market Pharmaceutical Health (Animal or Human), Animal Nutrition, Mass Market (other industries to be considered).
      • Knowledge and experience in One Health
      • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and experience managing a team.
      • Ability to commit to approximately 30% - 40% travel in-country with overseas travel as required.
      • A proven track record of inspirational and transformational Leadership building and leading high performing teams from different country and business backgrounds
      • Proven ability to identify and develop people within the team and wider organization
      • The ability to influence and manage in a matrix organization
      • Unquestionable ethics and integrity and track-record in adherence to Company compliance policies and procedures
