      As a Compliance Case Manager, you will be responsible for facilitation of critical processes in the compliance department, including tracking and triaging of alleged privacy breach reports through the compliance reporting process; commencing HIPAA investigations and assisting in the maintenance of appropriate evidence of privacy compliance to meet statutory requirements as well as independently researching and confirming appropriate site of service locations.

      Responsibilities

      • Manages the privacy reporting process by triaging reports, conducting investigations, and documenting findings.
      • Prepares privacy breach reports and correspondence.
      • Ensures privacy reporting process is appropriately tracked and provides updates to Privacy Officer and Chief Compliance Officer.
      • Manages team email inbox and follows up as appropriate.
      • Researches and confirms facility site of service appropriateness for home health before locations added to HCHB.
      • Audits services provided by Amedisys' medical records release of information vendor.
      • Audits employee access to electronic medical record system(s).
      • Facilitates collection of data for HIPAA self-audits.
      • Assists in developing and maintaining department intranet resource portal.
      • Researches state and federal compliance regulations.
      • Performs other investigative and/or audit oversight activities as assigned by supervisor, Deputy Compliance Officer or Chief Compliance Officer.
      • Complies with policies, procedures and regulatory mandates including but not limited to abiding to the terms of the Amedisys Compliance Program.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      Required-
      • Must meet one of the following qualifications:
        • Bachelor's degree with one (1+) year experience in healthcare compliance or related field or
        • Five (5+) years of experience in healthcare compliance or related field.
      • Strong computer skills and ability to use current software including word processing and Excel.
      • Strong organizational/file management skills.
      • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
      Preferred-
      • Paralegal certificate. Experience in law firm, health care compliance support roles, or college education may be substituted.
      • At least 1 year of investigative experience
      • Knowledge of laws and/or regulations in compliance, in particular HIPAA and state data privacy regulations.
      • CHPC or CIPP preferred.
