- Repair and install a variety of aircraft structural metal-to-metal and metal-to-fiberglass honeycomb panels, etc. using pre-constructed molds and form blocks.
- Prepare parts by placing on baseplates and bagging for autoclave cure or applies pressure by other means for room temperature cure.
- Verify work log/controls to assure serialization of products and stamps off on completed work.
- Form metal using punch press, drill press and other metal forming tools common to the trade.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed Tier 1 background investigation.
- This position requires a pre-employment physical examination and meet established requirements.
- This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.

About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.Duties

Composite Worker duties such as repairing sheet metal parts and structural panels. Perform general sheet metal repair on various components. Basic knowledge of metals, metal properties, and metal characteristics. Work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Employee stands for prolonged periods of time; also bends, kneels, reaches and stoops. Frequently moves molds, aircraft panels and other moderately heavy objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside a clean, well-lighted and well-ventilated area. Workers are frequently exposed to loud noise, dust, fumes, toxic and/or potentially flammable chemicals which can cause skin, eye and lung irritations, as well as to the possibility of cuts, burns and bruises. Numerous protective devices, equipment and clothing are available for employees, such as respirators, face shields, gloves, smocks, dual ear protection, protective hand cream, safety glasses, safety shoes, downdraft tables, updraft work stations, etc. Working conditions have been considered in the evaluation of the position.About the company
