Job Description
General Summary of Duties:
Direct and supervise planning, lay-out, and installation of all phases of concrete form work to be performed. Plan and coordinate forming activities with Project Superintendent to ensure proper sequencing and procedures are adhered to.
Coordinate/train craft workers under his/her supervision to accomplish work safely, correctly, and efficiently. Work with or supervise other crafts at levels appropriate in training and skills requested by project supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Hands on experience/skill to perform all of the essential functions of the craft workers under his/her supervision.
· Conduct Pre-task planning meetings daily before start of work with crew members to communicate work scope, make known/discuss safety hazards that may be encountered, safety equipment needed, and the sequence/schedule of assigned work to be performed, to safely and efficiently complete all aspects of work assigned.
· Understand, and adhere to company safety policy and procedures at all times.
· Train/teach Best in Class safety policies and procedures related to employee’s assigned tasks.
· Develop, nurture and maintain a positive work environment.
· Provide on-the-job training to individuals under his/her supervision. Ensure carpenters are qualified and understand all necessary steps to perform their work.
· Gain complete understanding of scope of work as it relates to different areas of the project.
· Develop thorough understanding of project plans, specifications, and schedules as related to work assigned.
· Forward planning and communication with Superintendent to ensure adequate supply of necessary tools and/or equipment are available for all scheduled /assigned work.
· Pre-plan upcoming work and communicate with Superintendent to ensure an adequate supply of tools, materials, and equipment are available.
· Participate in weekly task planning with Superintendent, monitor production, and be empowered to make necessary changes as they relate to safety and production.
· Inspect to ensure that correct construction procedures are followed and work is in compliance with the plans and specifications. Point out deficiencies, explain, and take corrective action.
· Monitor and report quantities of work performed daily.
· Complete performance reviews of craft workers.
· Maintain time book for hourly employees.
· Perform other job-specific duties and have basic understanding of scheduling, material control, and productivity management systems.
· Always maintain a clean and safe work area.

· Education – High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) preferred.
· Experience – Must have previous Cast-in-Place Concrete Carpenter Foreman experience. (IE) foundations, S.O.G., columns, walls, loose formed elevated framing/decking of slabs/beams, slab table build-up/flying/setting.
· Communication Skills – Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate accurately with Superintendent, as well as crane/equipment operators.
· Understand information, ideas, direction and be able to perform task or project discussed, as well as the ability to ask questions to ensure you understand information given.
· Must set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality, and productivity for crewmembers.
· Must be able to read and understand plans(Formwork Shop drawings), and specifications, and have the ability to visualize two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions

· Vision adequate to perform all required tasks.
· Ability to move in and around confined cluttered places, and uneven areas.
· Full range of motion and flexibility.

· Required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks.
· Regularly exposed to noise, dust, varying types of smells
· Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, must be able to properly use and handle toxic or caustic chemicals.
· Regularly exposed to wet/humid conditions, high, precarious places, & outside weather conditions.
· Expected to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area.
Other Relevant Information:
· This position is a Non-Exempt position and is subject to overtime pay.
· Travel may be required for this position.
· This position reports directly to the Superintendent of the project
