      About the Position: Works under the general supervision of the Chief of Construction Inspection Branch, who establishes the organizational framework and overall contractual requirements and interpretation sunder which work is to be accomplished.

      Duties


      • Serve as a Senior Construction Representative with expertise in all engineering disciplines as well as acceptable industry standards required to accomplish the various trades encountered.
      • Interprets contract plans and specifications and determines whether construction meets contracts requirements.
      • Interfaces with the contractor's quality control supervisory staff in rendering decisions on the acceptability of material and workmanship, the employment of safety, and makes suggestions for efficient accomplishment of the work.
      • Maintains records from which pay estimates and progress reports are prepared.
      • Administers the Construction Safety Program by informing the contractor of requirements concerning construction safety measures and enforcing applicable safety rules and regulations.
      • Conducts labor interviews with contract employees and checks weekly payrolls for completeness and/or discrepancies to ascertain if labor standard provisions of the contract are being complied with.

      One year of specialized experience which includes interpreting construction plans and specifications, inspecting materials and workmanship, and ensuring adherence to safety requirements of construction projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
