- Lead Site Safety Culture by adhering to the project HASP, leading daily tailgate meetings, observe construction activities for HASP compliance, performs daily SAFE WORK and Behavior Based Safety observations.
- Maintain oversight of day-to-day construction activities. Lead Plan of the Day (POD) meetings.
- Assist in the development of status and forward-looking project schedules and project cost estimates.
- Identify, define, and procure required subcontractor services. Prepare Work Authorizations.
- Prioritizes work to ensure critical work is completed in a timely manner, as required by contract.
- Be responsible for developing the daily and weekly scheduling for all project work.
- Obtain schedule information from subcontractor; ensure that it is included in the project master schedule. Resolve any coordination issues.
- Interface with Design and Engineering team to resolve technical problems.
- Document site activities and composes/compiles Daily Field Reports (DFRs), compile a photo log consisting of daily progress pictures documented with detailed descriptions and dates.
- Investigates accidents and safety incidents, with the assistance of the safety department.
- Act as the ultimate decision-maker during life-threatening emergency situations involving facilities, people, and property.
- Complete the daily POD report.
- Secure required construction permits.
- Monitor performance against the master schedule, including periodic updates.
- Prepare appropriate bid documentation, scope of work and WA development.
- Assist in documenting the daily tracking of material deliveries, disposal quantities, hours, and other project metrics.
- Track all aspects of progress of the project activities, financials, procurement overall progress etc.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management is preferred; no degree required with commensurate experience.
- 5-10 years of experience working on-site at environmental projects with progressive experience in construction management, proposal/budget development, estimating, and procurement.
- Proven ability to develop and use materials, services and equipment specifications common to construction needs to purchase on a local and national level.
- Expertise in heavy civil remediation such as solidification and stabilization
- Experience working with the construction, excavation and/or demolition of coal combustion residual management units and/or solid waste management facilities.
- Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to safety, strong leadership skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills, have a good understanding of project management methods and application to managing work, and are proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project, with commensurate computer skills for the position.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
