      Job Description

      Role and Responsibilities: -

      • Installing and configuring SLES, Centos, UBUNTU & Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems and related software on physical and virtual servers.
      • Administering and managing user accounts, groups, and permissions.
      • Managing file systems, and permissions
      • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.
      • Managing system updates and patches.
      • Ensuring system security by configuring firewalls, implementing security policies, and monitoring system logs.
      • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues related to system resources.
      • Configuring and managing storage devices and file systems.
      • Implementing and managing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
      • Installing and configuring network services, such as DHCP, DNS, and FTP.
      • Writing and maintaining scripts to automate system administration tasks.
      • Providing technical support to the client and resolving issues related to the Linux operating system.
      • Must be aware of Cloud / VMware.
      • Collaborating with L1 and L2 support teams and vendors to ensure timely resolution of issues.
      • Maintaining system documentation and following change management processes
      • Providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
      • related to system performance, network connectivity, and software applications.
      • Hands on experience on cluster management (OS level)
      • OS Kernel performance tuning
      • Good Knowledge with commands like DF, TOP, VMSTAT, FREE, SAR, YUM etc.
      • Must be knowledge of Redhat Satellite server.
      • Installation, Upgradation, Configuration, Maintenance, Patch/Package management and Troubleshooting of the Operating systems and services.
      • LVM tasks like Volume group creation, File system creation/extension, Logical Volumes.
      • Supporting high availability, fail-over, fallback using Veritas Cluster Server. Freezing, switching service groups in VCS cluster.
      • Hardware Maintenance and coordinating with Vendors like Red Hat, Oracle, Symantec, and IBM.
      • Monitoring System Performance of Virtual memory, Managing, Swap Space, Disk utilization and CPU utilization.
      • Hardware replacement including Battery, DIMM, Hard Disk, System Board, Power supply Fan and HBA Card in Red Hat HP ILO machines.
      • Implementing SSH Tectia key for password less connectivity.
      • Managing file system like monitoring sizes, resolving inconsistencies.
      • Configured Network bonding, log rotate, password policy, Apache configuration in all the Linux servers.
      • Managing Users and Groups and applying security permission to users and directories
      • Document process and preparation of run books.
      • Troubleshooting issues related to local user accounts, NIS, NFS, NTP, network issues, memory issues, etc. and servicing user requests.
      • Performing data restores on Unix servers.

      Required Technical Competencies

      CERTIFICATIONS:
      Any of the below or combination of Certifications is required for Operation engineer.
      RHCE/RHCSA
      Cloud certification
      ITIL V4 (Understanding Incident Management and Service Request Management)
      ITSM (Any tool , Understanding of Concepts)
      Monitoring (Any tool, Understanding of Concepts)

      Qualifications and Education Requirements:
      Educational Degree – Any Engineering / Graduation degrees / DIPLOMA
      Experience:
      4 to 6 years in Linux or Cloud Support
