This internship experience provides participants with a meaningful, relevant work experience as part of their academic studies. At the conclusion of this position, interns will have increased their knowledge of investing, the mutual fund industry, employee engagement, and a firm understanding of how finance works at an asset manager.

The MFS Summer Internship program is a 10-14-week program, starting 4 June 2024 through to 30 August 2024. Students work full-time, Monday through Friday, 35- 40 hours per week and are paid hourly. All applicants must be authorized to work in the United Kingdom.

Consultant Relations

The Global Consultant Relations team are responsible for developing and expanding the firms’ relationships with investment consultants; this enhances relationships with existing clients and generates new business. The team also populates and reviews information on MFS’ investment strategies in global consultant and third-party databases. The intern will support the team in a variety of duties, which will include a project, and may be complex in nature.

Investment Solutions Group

The Investment Solutions Group conducts research, develops MFS's views and delivers in depth analysis, insight, thought leadership and consulting on sustainable investing. The team is also responsible for developing and delivering on the strategic plan to ensure that MFS is adopting and promoting best practice in our marketplace. The work may be related to any/all client segments and will engage with teams externally and internally within MFS. The Intern will support the team in a variety of duties and projects which may be complex in nature.

Principal Responsibilities

• Participates in administrative projects that are required of the Consultant Relations team and the Investment Solutions Group.

• Interacts with CSMs, CSEs, Salespeople, Consultant Relations and RM/KAMs as needed.

• Attends team meetings and calls to gain a strong understanding of the team’s workload, processes and procedures.

• Assist in the day- to- day tasks carried out by the team, providing cover for colleagues on annual leave during the summer period.

• Assist with the scheduling and arranging of onsite client meetings (presentation materials, refreshments, conference rooms).

• Performs a variety of specialized duties, which may be complex or confidential in nature, to assist teams and ensure smooth and efficient operations.

• Performs other duties as required. These may include assembling marketing materials, helping to prep for our conference season, amongst others.

Qualifications

•Strong interpersonal skills and passion for developing relationships.

•Strong analytical, communication, organizational and project/people management skills.

•Expertise in spreadsheet, database and word processing applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

•Work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

•Ability to work independently, as well as highly motivated with minimal direction, and must have the ability to meet deadlines.
