      Job Requisition ID: 32024

      • Agile working environment

      • Mentoring programs – have a buddy and career coach to give you feedback, support and advice.

      • Be part our cohort of Summer Vacationers – meaning you’ll have a community of other students to lean on and learn from!

We’re not your traditional actuarial practice: We are out-of-the box actuaries who leverage deep expertise in actuarial science in innovative ways, and with Deloitte’s focus on creative thinking we will help prepare you and your career to be a part of that next-generation of the actuary! We won’t give you a career path – we’ll help you shape your own. It’s your time to explore and advance in the areas you find inspirational. Expect purpose, progression, and making an impact that matters. Your story is just beginning, and your green dot is what you make of it.

What will your typical day look like?

As a Vacationer, you’ll be trained in core technical skills and put through extensive project management training to ace your career in the actuarial market. We provide clients with end-to-end quantitative solutions, including strategic advice, data management, modelling and execution of the solution.

Working closely with our Actuaries & Consultants team, you will have the opportunity to, for example:

      • Be part of a multi-disciplinary analytics team to help a major insurance client to target customers who are most likely to leave and purchase cover elsewhere.
      • Work for a large insurer to assess the value for a potential acquisition of an insurance company.
      • Dive into solving complex client problems and work on a variety of projects from different industries (i.e. Financial Services, Health-Pharma, Telco & Retail industries).
      • Hone your valuation and modelling skills, develop your approach to delivering projects, work within teams, and build your confidence when client facing.
      • Utilise the latest software technologies to improve business outcomes and customer experiences as part of being a modern actuary.

We also offer great study support packages for actuarial qualifications along with a range of technical and non-technical training opportunities.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You’re motivated and have a knack for problem-solving. You are also someone with:

      • Strong verbal and written communication skills
      • Strong collaborative skills with initiative and drive, but can also thrive independently.
      • Strong university results from an Actuarial Studies degree (or similar) – preferably for those on track towards completing studies with Honours
      • An interest to continue your studies with a postgraduate qualification in Actuarial.
      • A desire to innovate and challenge the status quo, with an eye to where the world is heading.
