      Stellar Virtual is committed to ensuring our full-time employees have the tools they need to succeed in a virtual work environment. To support your role effectively, we provide a company-issued laptop, equipped with the necessary software, security features, and internal support. This does not apply to Independent Contractors (1099), part-time, seasonal, or unpaid individuals.

      Employment with Stellar Virtual is on an at-will basis (only W2 employment types), meaning either the employee or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice, subject to applicable laws.       Position Overview
      We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Communications Specialist to lead the development and writing of communications materials. This role will be responsible for crafting compelling content for newsletters, mass communication announcements, and other platforms to support the organization's mission and enhance audience engagement. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, an eye for detail, and a strong understanding of communication strategies to reach diverse audiences.

      Essential Duties & Responsibilities

      • Content Development
        • Develop, write, and edit content for newsletters, mass communication announcements, press releases, and other communication materials.
        • Ensure all content is clear, engaging, and aligned with the organization's voice, style, and messaging goals.
        • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of content that supports organizational priorities.
      • Editorial Oversight:
        • Review and edit all communication materials to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to AP style and organizational guidelines.
        • Maintain an editorial calendar to plan and schedule content for maximum impact.
      • Digital and Social Media Support:
        • Assist with content creation for websites, social media, and email marketing campaigns to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms.
        • Analyze audience engagement metrics and adjust content strategies to improve effectiveness.
      • Collaboration:
        • Act as a key liaison with internal teams to gather information, identify storytelling opportunities, and produce high-quality communication pieces.
        • Coordinate with graphic designers and multimedia specialists to ensure visuals align with written content.


      Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

      • 3-5 years of experience in content creation, writing, and editing, preferably in a communications or public relations role.
      • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a mastery of AP style.
      • Proven ability to develop and execute communication strategies that drive engagement.
      • Proficiency with content management tools (e.g., SchoolStatus, Salesforce) and familiarity with digital marketing practices, including SEO and analytics.
      • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
      • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally


      Education & Certification Requirements

      • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.

      Preferred Qualification

      • Experience in K-12 education.
      • Familiarity with visual content creation and graphic design processes.
      • Knowledge of change management or crisis communication strategies.


      The pay range for this role is:

      39,000 - 50,000 USD per year (Remote - United States)
