What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and maintain IT contingency, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans in compliance with federal regulations and standards
- Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify vulnerabilities and ensure mitigation strategies are in place
- Design and implement service recovery procedures, defining recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO) for key systems
- Coordinate full-scale tests of recovery plans, ensuring processes are validated and improved based on results
- Maintain detailed documentation on contingency and recovery plans, providing regular updates to leadership
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in IT service continuity, disaster recovery, cybersecurity policy, or business continuity planning
- Strong knowledge of disaster recovery tools, risk assessment/mitigation, and service recovery best practices
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Relevant certifications such as Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Experience in federal government or public sector IT continuity planning
- Knowledge of cloud disaster recovery solutions and virtualization technologies
- Familiarity with federal regulations, such as FISMA, NIST, and FEMA standards
- Experience with ServiceNow
