Job Description

Review, draft and negotiate terms for complex engagements with third party suppliers for a wide variety of services, including software license/implementation/maintenance, financial products and services, subscriptions, property maintenance/construction, marketing, training and consulting. Work with internal stakeholders, including but not limited to, corporate legal, risk, compliance, information security, finance and business, to ensure contract terms meet applicable standards and adequately protect UMB interests. Use contracts management software to generate and document all third party supplier contracts. Work with finance and associated business unit to budget and track ongoing renewals, software license, maintenance, support, subscriptions and/or other third party contract commitments. Work alone and with other departmental associates to negotiate contractual terms and conditions with third party suppliers; Review contract language to identify and provide analysis of complex contractual, regulatory, risk and intellectual property issues associated with third party supplier contracts and engagements in compliance with the applicable contract standards; Use internal risk software to understand potential contract risks identified by internal stakeholders; Serve as point of contact among internal stakeholder on all third party supplier contract related matters; Assist internal stakeholders with vendor research as needed to support company initiatives and engagements; Coordinate and participate in meetings with internal stakeholders and third party supplier representatives during negotiation of complex engagements with third party suppliers ; Provide guidance and leadership to cross functional business team members; Assist UMB end users with comprehension of contract terms related to complex agreements to facilitate appropriate review and approval of terms; and Other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree and 5 years experience in contracts/legal, risk, procurement, financial services or other relevant experience OR Advanced degree and 2 years related experience in contracts/legal, procurement, financial services, or other relevant experience Demonstrates attention to detail Demonstrates expert negotiating skills Demonstrates strong ability to work collaboratively with internal and/or external resources Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates ability to exercise appropriate discretion when handling confidential information Demonstrates strong ability to multi task and self manage a diverse workload Demonstrates ability to perform in complex cross functional business environment with program management ability
Compensation Range:
$69,230.00 - $149,000.00The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
