      Basic Function:

      The Contract Specialist will be responsible for drafting and reviewing, advising on, negotiating, and managing contracts and compliance for commercial and government contracts. This person will assist with negotiation of favorable terms, pricing, and conditions of contracts, as well as assist with contract execution and archiving. This person will also lead identification of government solicitations, including proposal review and preparation. This person will work closely with various departments to organize a coordinated contracting approach across both product sales and patient services.

      Responsibilities:

      • Manage contracts from drafting through execution

      • Act as point of contact with internal stakeholders, advising on implications of terms and identifying and responding to questions and needs

      • Lead negotiations and discussions with external counterparties

      • Ensure timely contract execution and organization

      • Monitor contract performance, invoicing and payments, and customer requests

      • Organize and manage acquisition of government contracts through proposal development and submission

      • Assist sales in identifying opportunities and understanding all associated contractual requirements

      • Establish and maintain relationships with contracting counterparts, including personnel from customers and government agencies

      • Develop and administer government contracting policies, controls and procedures ensuring compliance with U.S. and foreign government statutes and regulations

      • Maintain assigned contracting files and required registrations

      • All employees must be aware, have knowledge and shall have received general training in Quality requirements of Össur. Training takes place in the Onboarding process and in New Employee Orientation. More specific Quality training is job specific.

      • All training related to the quality management system is done in accordance to the Training Management Process (QM1681).

      • Exercises good use of company funds and property within the set guidelines. Maintains an honest and professional attitude as the company’s representative at all times.

      • Contributes to a safe working environment by maintaining own workspace and reporting any potential hazards.

      Knowledge/Education Requirements:

      • Bachelor's degree required

      • Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience in legal, compliance, and/or government contracting

      • Preferred prior experience with contract administration

      • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents

      • Ability to use good judgment in making decisions

      • Ability to prioritize projects and assignments

      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

      • Strong organizational and time management skills

      • Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

      The US base salary range for this full-time position is $77,729 - $96,007 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
