Responsible for overseeing and managing the financial and accounting results of the Northeast Region
Be a strategic business partner to Regional Leader, Business Unit Leaders (BUL), and their core teams
Report to the CFO timely and accurate information
Direct day to day operational accounting and monthly reporting of results along with an evaluation of risks and opportunities
Participate and align with outcomes expected and/or exposures noted from profitability reviews
Evaluate provisions for known claims/exposures with appropriate teams ; assist in resolution as appropriate
Support the business with the annual 3 Year Business Planning process – including an understanding/quantification of key bets
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Advance/lead Finance initiatives supporting companywide improvements
Self-starter, takes ownership and follows through
Provide regular and thorough communication, while balancing listening
Being helpful, respectful and team oriented
Focused on building strong working relationships and creating a positive work environment
Demonstrate strong organizational skills, plans a head and manager time efficiently
Provide critical thinking with problem solving skills using research and analytics. Able to get further upstream (proactive about identifying trends, issues, troubleshooting, etc.,)

Minimum of 10 years practicing accounting and finance support
Experience managing a team
Construction industry experience
BS in Accounting or related field (finance, audit, tax)
CPA
Proficiency with accounting software applications

Job Description
Regional Controller – Roles & Responsibilities:
Overall Role & Responsibilities:
Specific Areas of Focus Include:
Financials:
Prepare draft financials, attend monthly review meeting, and finalize monthly regional financials. Maintain, update, and audit the Northeast business unit backlog data Monitor overhead cost trends and investigate unusual trends Lead/ participate in monthly/quarterly overhead reviews Review project cost reports anomalies with BULs and share any risks/reserves not reported or needed based on experience
Controller:
Design and oversee related insurance programs. Monitor related projections and understand variances. Track and monitor labor productivity including the understanding of the specific labor rate structure(s) Ensure project set-up is accurate in and in line with company standards (use of cost codes, rates, etc.) Miscellaneous – data mining as needed for BUL’s for any reason to demonstrate performance, results, “what-ifs ”, changes year over year, etc. Produce monthly risk/reserve analysis for active projects Assist in the development of the regional/business unit financial statements based on booked and backlog work, projected labor hours and overhead trends. Then, evaluate monthly when actuals are varying from plan and what is the correct trend projection going forward Participate in internal/external audits and help the team provide the follow up information necessary.
Accounting:
Interview all potential new project accountants and be responsible for all accountants’ performance and career development (suggest training, develop growth plans, etc.) Organize monthly peer group meeting (balance work load , learning component , regional updates, etc.). Identify topics and issues that need to be communicated with adjacent groups. Communicate and drive billing best practices with the accounting group (billing process map, roles & responsibilities, use of Textura, etc.,) Follow up with project managers and accountants on timeliness of invoices and collections Oversee overall cash flow/position for each project and implement corrective action as needed
