What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide support to the Senior Care Services/PACE department in processing outpatient or inpatient referrals/authorizations
- Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines for referral/authorization processing
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the referral process
- Coordinate with leadership to enhance operational efficiency
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to referrals and authorizations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical billing environment, preferably with pre-authorizations and reimbursement regulations
- Prior experience working in a clinic or healthcare specialty call center
- Knowledge of utilization management processing for authorization referrals
- Medical Assistant or Medical Billing Certificate preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with Medi-Cal, CCS, and other government programs
- Familiarity with IPA or HMO environments
- Additional certifications in relevant healthcare fields
