- Professionally represent Real Time Operations in all day-to-day operations.
- Proactively monitor customer networks to identify fault occurrences.
- Acknowledge, check, and respond to customer fault reports.
- Perform timely and accurate basic initial diagnostics, ensuring fault clearance wherever possible.
- Ensure accurate ticket detail entry and updates for all fault reports.
- Ensure relevant and accurate information available to assist in fault diagnosis and clear.
- Monitor fault tickets, prioritise, and track progress as appropriate.
- Ensure technical and managerial escalation completed to defined timescales.
- Test and liaise with customers and other internal or external agencies and third parties.
- Ensure overall adherence to quality procedures and working processes.
- 1 year’s network management experience in 2 key technology areas or 2 years full time education in appropriate subject(s).
- Minimum SC clearance or able to meet SC criteria
- Minimum of three years’ experience in telecommunications, of which at least one in an operation’s centre environment.
- Ability of working and understanding across SDH, PDH and optical technologies, (Ericsson, Nortel, Ciena,)
- Proven track record in network management & troubleshooting
- Excellent understanding of Global Telecoms infrastructure including 24 x7 x 365 environments.
- Experienced at working with multiple third-party network providers and equipment vendors.
- Able to communicate at appropriate levels of target audience on both Technical & non-Technical (including process activities).
- Proven ability to adapt to new products & services (technologies) offered within the Vodafone portfolio.
- Industry recognised qualification(s) / Professional qualification (s)
- Flexible approach to working hours and available to attend off site meetings as and when required.
- Ability to produce Network incidents reports in relation to Network events.

Operating within the Technology Operations Networks Operations Centre this role is responsible for customer and CORE reactive and pro-active fault management and resolution. The main focus will be on Pro-active Alarm Monitoring and ticket creation, progressing into initial diagnostics, fault localisation and resolution for all Transmission technologies and systems. The role may also involve some overlap training to cover other technology areas.
What you’ll do
Working in the Technology Operations Networks Operations Centre on a range of technologies (including SDH, PDH, Ethernet, Optical, MSPP etc); the role will specialise in one or more of the technologies but will be expected to work across all of them. The individual will work as a shift engineer, providing network monitoring, initial fault diagnosis and resolution. In depth diagnostics and intermittent fault resolution may also be necessary as part of the role (as required). All faulting is targeted and measured within defined Vodafone Customer Service Level Agreements. Customer contact and interaction is also a key area of the role.Who you are
