      Main Purpose:

      The Corporate Finance Officer will join a team of 5 highly experienced finance professionals responsible for the raising and maintenance of over USD 25 billion of financings, including revolving credit facilities, bonds, asset financings, private placements, securitisation programmes and other structured financings. The position holder will be directly exposed to banks, institutional investors and Trafigura’s senior management. Being a small team means everyone is exposed to all aspects of a transaction, from operational aspects up to strategic decisions. The Officer will work in the Geneva office on a full-time basis. Trafigura values the constant cooperation and sharing of knowledge allowed by having team members in the office. All employees work in open spaces.

      Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

      Key Responsibilities

      Working in a small, collaborative and highly visible team within the organisation, the Officer’s role will entail:

      • Originating, structuring and executing corporate debt transactions, such as revolving credit facilities, term loans, bonds, private placements, asset-backed securities, securitisation programmes, project financing, asset-based financing, ESG-linked financing products, etc.

      • Producing related marketing material, such as information memorandums, term sheets, bank presentations, investor presentations, etc.

      • Organising and attending bank and investors presentation, roadshows, etc.

      • Monitoring, running, amending and sometimes restructuring debt transactions through their life.

      • Analytical and quantitative work in the context of corporate financings and asset-based financings, such as development of financial models, capital structure analysis, analysis of ESG KPIs, debt markets analysis for new debt products, etc.

      • Providing peer group research and financial analysis, benchmarking, monitoring industry trends and development.

      • Management of investor relations.

      • travel to meet with banks or investors as required.

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

      The Officer will hold an outstanding degree from a reputable university and will have gained experience (from 4 to 6 years) from a previous position at:

      • Investment or commercial bank (e.g. corporate finance team, DCM, M&A, structured or project finance team);

      • Consultancy firm or transaction services team of one of the large accounting firms;

      • Dynamic industrial company (e.g. M&A, debt capital markets, treasury forecasting); or Private equity firm.

      The individual will have an excellent business/financial academic background and have gained solid understanding of financial and accounting principles associated with practical implementation in cash flow modelling.

      More specifically the individual must demonstrate at least the following technical skills:

      • Good knowledge of accounting and cash flow analysis;

      • Ability to explain clearly financial concepts to non-expert audience;

      • Practical understanding of financial statements;

      • Understanding of corporate finance techniques and products both from a financial and legal standpoint;

      • Ability to negotiate transaction terms with banks, investors and other stakeholders;

      • Project evaluation and investment framework;

      • Experience in cash flow modelling (Excel, VBA);

      • Ability to learn and utilise financial information tools (Bloomberg, Debtdomain, Salesforce, etc.);

      • Ability to develop management reporting.

      Other key attributes:

      • Fluent English (written and spoken to business standard);

      • Additional language a plus;

      Key Relationships and Department Overview:

      The Officer will work closely with multiple departments in Trafigura’s global locations including Structured Trade Finance, Trade Finance, Corporate Funding (day-to-day operational matters relating to corporate treasury and debt), Treasury, M&A, etc.
