- Oversee cost accounting processes, including inventory valuation, variance analysis, and cost of goods sold calculations.
- Manage inventory accounting, encompassing amortization schedules and asset tracking.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the manufacturing process, from raw materials to finished goods, including cost of sales.
- Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring accurate journal entries and account reconciliations for inventory and cost of goods sold in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Conduct ongoing reporting and root cause analysis on margins, absorption, price volume mix, and other metrics to maintain timely and accurate standards and gross margins.
- Execute the annual standard cost roll, ensuring meticulous preparation and implementation.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and compile reports to compare standard costs against actual production costs, providing actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, driving informed business decisions and strategic profit growth.
- Present cost accounting reports to senior management, offering data-driven insights for effective decision-making.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive cost accounting models, documents, and organizational records.
- Oversee the year-end inventory count, guaranteeing the precision of inventory records.
- Manage and/or mentor other members of the cost accounting staff. Provide support, guidance, and direction for accounting activities performed out of the GBS.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related
- Relevant experience may substitute for required education.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years in the accounting field, including at least 5 years specializing in cost accounting. Experience should demonstrate a capacity for providing guidance and leadership within a team setting.
- Technical Expertise: A solid grasp of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), showcasing strong proficiency and application in a professional setting.
- Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of developing and mentoring team members, fostering a culture of growth and learning.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels, including engaging with external auditors, and showcasing strong interpersonal skills.
- Analytical Skills: Robust quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to derive insights from complex financial data.

- Big Four public accounting experience preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalent preferred.
