      Position Summary:

      The Cost Engineer will provide cost expertise for the xEV Business Unit (BU) to support the achievement of optimal cost targets. This role involves collecting engineering requirements and providing cost estimates along with suitable suppliers for new parts and developments. Additionally, the Cost Engineer will implement a cost database to reference cost models across similar products and will be responsible for mastering cost data to optimize cost models effectively. This role is crucial in ensuring that the company maintains competitive pricing while delivering high-quality xEV products. This is a key player in balancing cost management with innovation in product development, directly contributing to the profitability and success of the business unit.

      Position Duties and Responsibilities

      Time Spent

      Based on requests and information coming from DE, Purchasing, or BU, provide Should Cost of the component or product.

      50%

      Calculate/analyze Should Cost:

      -For awarding support by sharing achievable cost.

      -For negotiation supports by sharing should cost based.

      -Conduct tear down and summarize findings into report.

      -Supplier production line improvement on demand.

      15%

      Update database with latest manufacturing cost including raw material, labor etc.

      10%

      Co-lead the VEC activities with BU purchasing team from preparing parts to scheduling with suppliers

      10%

      Conduct the benchmarking (BMC) for the VEC (structure, weight, material etc.) and prepare summaries for the workshops.

      10%

      Create and update templates for benchmarking

      Requirements

      Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

      • Bachelor/master’s degree in engineering, Business studies or equivalent
      • At least 5 years of experience in purchasing / commercial environment in industrial context

      Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

      • Minimum 1 Year Experience in Cost Analysis
      • Minimum 3 Years Experience in Manufacturing
