What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Identify and manage counterparty credit risk of Payment Services partner relationships across the Discover Global Network
- Conduct detailed financial statement analysis and negotiate contract terms to mitigate risks
- Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design controls that mitigate operational and compliance risks
- Develop and maintain internal tools and databases supporting risk processes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Technology, Internal Business, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience analyzing financial statements using GAAP and/or IFRS
- 2+ years of experience in commercial credit, acquiring, payments, or related fields
- Alternatively, 6+ years of experience in commercial credit, acquiring, payments, or related fields in lieu of a degree
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with risk management practices in the financial services industry
- Familiarity with project management methodologies
- Knowledge of compliance regulations related to payments and credit risk
- Skills in developing training materials and conducting training sessions
- Proficiency in using financial analysis tools and software
