- parties, documents, flags, comments, events, and dispositions in case processing system and other relevant systems; notifies relevant individuals about missing information, documents, or non-compliant legal forms.
- Processes cases within assigned area of responsibility; research, tracks, and monitors case status and progression; follows up with judges, lawyers, and/or parties as necessary.
- Provides assistance to attorneys, parties self-represented litigants, judges, and the public by responding to a variety of questions in-person, over the phone, by mail, and/or electronically; refers new or complex questions to higher level staff.
- Issues receipts for payment of court fees; reconciles daily receipts and cash registers.
- Attends and participates in division/team meetings and trainings; maintains knowledge of court policies, process, and procedures.
- Utilizes applicable technology (i.e., operating and information systems and/or programs) and office equipment to perform and complete work assignments.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a high volume, fast paced work environment with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a team-orientated environment.

- Knowledge of customer service practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work.
- Or equivalent education and experience.
Nice to Have:- Knowledge of court procedures and policies, laws, legal terminology, and legal factors pertaining to the court.
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and cases appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes.
- Ability to read and interpret legal documents of varying types and complexity and apply knowledge of specific laws, statutes, rules, policies, and procedures related to the area of assignment
- Knowledge of the organization, operation, function, and jurisdiction of the court.
The anticipated starting hourly rate for this position is $21.00 an hour for external hires, with a full future earning potential of $41,405.04 - $69,760.08 annually. The full classification earning potential is $19.83 - $33.41 per hour, $41,405.04 - $69,760.08 annually, with the top end of the range being what someone could be making after years of service in the role of Court Operations Associate.
This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and are eligible for State of MN employee benefits.

The Family Court Division is located on the 1st floor of the Family Justice Center: 110 South 4th Street, Minneapolis, MN, 55401.
The core hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, but may vary depending on the assignment and operational needs. This position is currently working primarily hybrid, depending on business needs.

Hennepin County District Court has an amazing opportunity for a Court Operations Associate to join the Family Court Filing Assignment and Scheduling Team (FAST)! This is a diverse, professional environment that promotes equity for all court staff and court users.
Court Operations Associates work individually and in teams using independent judgment along with available resources to perform a variety of administrative assignments. This role requires dedication to providing customers with a professional court experience, an eye for detail, excellent communication, time management, and technological skills to match our high-performance environment.Work includes processing electronically filed and paper filed documents; assisting customers who are appearing for domestic abuse related cases; working directly with customers at a public counter and answering public phone lines. Court Operations Associates rotate through these areas as needed and must be flexible as to assignment and attentive to detail. This position does not provide support in the courtroom.
