      CREATIVE ENGAGEMENET ASSOCIATE, Flex-time (Non-exempt)

      POSITION PURPOSE:

      This position reports to the Manager of Creative and Public Engagement.

      As part of the Creative & Public Engagement team, the Creative Engagement Associate contributes to programs and spaces that encourage all ages to explore the creative process. This individual will contribute to the advancement of the Museum’s efforts to welcome the broadest spectrum of the community. A successful candidate will be committed to connecting youth, families, and adults with art and creativity.

      This position is benefited and designated as flex time and will work a variable schedule with an average of 30 hours a week average annually.

      PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

      Reporting to the Manager of Creative & Public Engagement, Creative Engagement Associates are responsible for facilitating a fun, safe, and accessible hands-on experience for visitors of all ages. Creative Engagement Associates engage with visitors to provide efficient, high-quality customer service in the museum’s interactive Studio and Creative Hub spaces, in addition to supporting live programming during Untitled: Artist Takeover and Creative Classes for adult audiences.

      Specific duties include:

      • Welcoming visitors into interactive spaces and events:
        • Greet visitors when they enter and give an overview of the space/program.
        • Stay up-to-date on museum happenings to share with visitors and help them plan their visit.
      • Facilitate hands-on activities and programs through the lens of artistic process.
        • Actively engage with visitors and model positive, educational, and respectful ways to interact with children and adults.
        • Simultaneously manage multiple groups/families of various age, experience, and interest-level.
        • Assist Demonstrating Artists as needed with load-in, load-out, and during the program.
      • Maintaining spaces and activities:
        • Perform daily opening/closing and maintenance tasks, including routine stocking, cleaning, and prepping of materials for hands-on activities.
        • Monitor spaces for supply and repair needs, and report these issues to appropriate staff.
      • Providing feedback and support for program and space development:
        • Collaborate with the team to install, prototype, and test hands-on activities and signage for visitors of all ages.
        • Participate in team reflection and assist with evaluation to continuously improve operations of Creative & Public Engagement spaces and programs.
        • Participate in the research and development of Studio activities and concepts.
      • Administrative duties:
        • Maintain/record statistics for interactive spaces and programs.
        • Respond to email and phone communication in a timely manner.

      Qualifications


      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Experience working with various age groups including children, families, and adults.
      • Comfort in approaching and inviting others to participate.
      • Commitment to promoting inclusion and cultural responsiveness.
      • Excellent customer service skills.
      • Expressed interest in working with Denver’s creative community.
      • Strong communication skills.
      • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
      • Commitment to a range of 32-35 hours availability per week, some nights and weekends, as well as regularly scheduled staff meetings and trainings.

      Compensation : The hiring salary for the position is $18.50- $20.50 per hour based on experience. A $0.50 language differential is available for hours worked for candidates who have Spanish speaking proficiency.
