Job Description
- Req#: 195671
- Provides direction to department staff and administers credit/collection policies of the organization.
- Formulates credit and collections policies, methods, and procedures for approval by senior management.
- Evaluate customer credit to establish and monitor customer credit limits.
- Determines action to take in collection of past due accounts where normal collection procedures have failed.
- Manage delinquent customer accounts, including collection notices, filing liens, utilizing outside counsel, and placing accounts in third-party collections.
- Prepares or supervises preparation of data showing credit activities and status of accounts. Provide monthly reporting of DSO and receivable aging status, meeting or exceeding company collection metrics and DSO goals.
- Communicates with sales and finance on the status of client accounts or the credit classification of prospective clients.
- 5+ years Credit/Collections experience, most recently in a similar role.
- Experience with processing construction liens and knowledge of state-specific regulations governing lien laws.
- Knowledge of Billing and Collections procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, goal oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Able to handle stressful situations and deal with conflict.
- Proven successful negotiation skills.
- Display commitment to continuous improvement of the business.
- Ability to positively motivate, develop, and coach others.

Position Description
Manager responsible for operation of a department focused on credit and collections. Provides direction to department staff and administers credit/collection policies of the organization. May formulate credit and collections policies, methods, and procedures for approval by senior management. Duties include determining customer credit capacity, managing the compilation of credit information, analyzing, and interpreting available information and authorizing extension of credit. Decisions include determining action to take in collection of past due accounts where normal collection procedures have failed. Responsible for processing construction liens requiring detailed and state-specific process with attention to deadlines, proper documentation, while following accurate legal regulations. Prepares or supervises preparation of data showing credit activities and status of accounts. Frequently communicates with sales and finance on the status of client accounts or the credit classification of prospective clients.
