      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      As a corporate underwriter, credit policy specialist, you'll provide support to underwriters and the mortgage fulfillment team (including training & answering questions) and assisting with our Mortgage Loan Origination system - encompass by reviewing loans.
      • Second level reviews - Jumbo loans > 1 Mil.
      • Create and provide training to Underwriters, i.e. Job Aids, Worksheets, troubleshooting, etc.
      • Review Test Cases for new Underwriters or Underwriters working toward VA LAPP/SAR and FHA DE
      • Research and answer questions emailed to our Policy email address
      • Update Policies and Procedures with current Investor/Agency guidelines
      • Assist with writing and implementing new programs
      • Assist with Post-Closing/Insuring issues
      • Transfer new Underwriter CHUMS #'s and help transfer VA LAPP/SAR to Security National
      • Underwrite our non-QM delegated loan product.
      • Assist with QC Findings and Trends
      • Create Bulletins and other distributed communication to the Regions
      • And other related duties as assigned


      Requirements

      Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
      • Strong communication, organization, attention to detail and time management skills
      • Experience with paperless underwriting a plus
      • Experience with non-QM loans required
      • Computer skills, including knowledge of Desktop Underwriter and Loan Product Advisor
      • Independent, self-starting, team player with a positive attitude. Must work well with internal and external customers.
      • Knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional, and USDA guidelines
      • FHA Chums and VA Lapp/SAR required.

      Physical Requirements:
      • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
      • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
      • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
      • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
      • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk, while working on a computer


      Salary Description

      $95,000 - $110,000 annually
