      We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Critical Power Systems Specialist to lead the processes for electrical systems management within our data center. This role is crucial in ensuring the continuous operation, performance, and safety of critical electrical infrastructure, including power distribution units, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), backup generators, and associated systems. The ideal candidate will bring expert knowledge of electrical systems, advanced troubleshooting skills, and an ability to implement best practices for high-availability environments.

      Responsibilities:

      • Provide technical expertise and oversight for the design, installation, and operation of electrical systems within the data center.
      • Provide leadership and guidance for electrical maintenance teams to ensure optimal performance of critical power infrastructure and systems.
      • Serve as the subject matter expert for all electrical systems within our data centers.
      • Provide guidance and oversight of the operation and maintenance processes of UPS systems, backup generators, power distribution units (PDUs), and other electrical systems ensuring reliable, high-quality power delivery.
      • Ensure that power supply infrastructure meets or exceeds uptime requirements, identifying and mitigating risks to system reliability.
      • Ability to diagnose complex electrical issues impacting data center operations, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
      • Lead the response to power failures, electrical faults, and other disruptions, minimizing downtime and mitigating risks.
      • Assist with leading and approving electrical infrastructure projects, including upgrades, new installations, and modifications to critical power systems.
      • Ensure that electrical systems are scalable and aligned with data center growth plans and operational efficiency.
      • Provide guidance to site teams to ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E), and best practices in the design, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
      • Monitor and audit electrical systems for adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
      • Act as an escalation contact for electrical emergencies, providing guidance during crisis situations and ensuring swift, effective resolution, may include after hours via on-call.
      • Propose and implement system improvements, capacity planning, and performance optimization to enhance the resilience of power systems.
      • Provide site teams guidance to maintain detailed, accurate records of electrical systems' performance, maintenance schedules, and incident resolutions.
      • Create comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, outlining system performance, improvements, and key metrics.
      • Able to travel 25%

      Qualifications:

      • 7+ years of hands-on experience with critical electrical systems in a data center or mission-critical facility environment.
      • Extensive experience managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting power systems, UPS, generators, PDUs, and related equipment.
      • Proven track record of managing complex electrical projects and delivering improvements in high-availability settings.
      • In-depth expertise in electrical engineering and systems design, especially for critical infrastructure in data centers.
      • Strong knowledge of electrical safety protocols, industry standards (e.g., IEEE, NFPA), and disaster recovery procedures.
      • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team management abilities.
      • Strong communication and reporting skills, able to liaise with stakeholders across technical and non-technical departments.

      Education / Certifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (preferred).
      • Professional certifications, such as a Licensed Electrician, Certified Power Systems Professional (CPSP), or similar, are a plus.

      Work Environment:

      • Willingness to be on-call for emergencies or after-hours troubleshooting.
      • Ability to work in a physically demanding, high-stress environment during critical situations.
