- Coordinate operations of cruise terminal facilities and ensure the operation is in compliance with State, Local and Federal regulations and meets the standards from our various cruise lines.
- Performs skilled work in positioning and monitoring loading bridges for passenger boarding and disembarking. Operates passenger bridges (gangway) at Cruise Terminals. Advise ship personnel when “lineup” is satisfactory. Ensure that gangways are used only when they are within specified operating parameters. These tasks may require occasional adjusted schedules such as extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- The skilled passenger bridge operator must have the ability to learn or to know how to be able to identify and troubleshoot an alarm or malfunction while operating the gangway in order to minimize the downtime of the bridge and be able to contact his/her supervisor for further instructions.
- Correspond, meet and coordinate with vessel agents, vendors and contractors to arrange delivery of essential goods and services in order to provide the best possible service to PTB cruise line customers.
- Schedule and coordinate repairs and upgrades of existing operations and terminal equipment to ensure that the equipment and services are available to PTB cruise line customers.
- Plan and coordinate services and cruise operations by phone, email and other means of communication as required.
- Assist other PTB departments in planning of and participation in promotional events at the PTB cruise terminals.
- Complete miscellaneous tasks, functions and projects as required.
- In addition to the various aforementioned essential functions & duties, the Cruise Terminal Operations Supervisor will be trained and expected to perform all duties outlined under the Vessel Traffic Operations Specialist Job Description.
- Furthermore, the Cruise Terminal Operations Supervisor will need to be trained and able to perform all of the responsibilities outlined within the Scale House Operator Job Description.
- Due to the diversity of Port Tampa Bay operations, it is very important that all operations personnel be willing and able to perform any/all duties among the various positions within the operations department, without exception.

- Working knowledge of the functions, activities, requirements and objectives of cruise vessels and terminal operations.
- Specialized technical knowledge of specific operational areas of the terminal and the ability to perform or supervise specialized work in cruise terminals.
- Knowledge of the State, Federal, and Local regulations applicable to cruise terminals.
- Skill in the application of supervisory techniques.
- Skilled in the operation of passenger loading bridges or similar equipment preferred.
- Skill to oversee and coordinate work performed by subcontractors and vendors.
- Skill to work with other PTB departments to perform research, identify, and purchase equipment, services and supplies required for the operation of cruise facilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others within and outside of the organization.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to use initiative, and exercise sound judgment.
- A Bachelor's degree; and
- One or more years of experience directly related to the position duties.
- Or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies listed above.
- Incumbent must possess a current and valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or capable of obtaining one within thirty days from the date of hire.
- Must successfully pass a seaport security background check and compliance for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Ability to work in busy office setting.

- Exposure to inclement weather
- On 24-hour emergency call
- Flexibility in work schedule as determined by responsibilities of this position.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

This position is responsible for implementing, planning, organizing, and managing Port Tampa Bay Cruise Terminals and Cruise operations. These responsibilities must be done in accordance with all operational best practices as well as to all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Performs skilled work in positioning and monitoring loading bridges for passenger boarding and disembarking.
Minimum of Pay Range: $45,416.80

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. While employee will generally work a four-day workweek, 10-hour days, employees will also work on all cruise ship days, which may include weekends. This will require regularly adjusted schedules such as extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. The department head will designate the work schedule.
