Charter One supports Boards of Directors in the efficient management of the school to help ensure that the vision and mission are met with full compliance to state laws, policies, and the charter agreement.


      Charter One is currently accepting applications for a CTE Director. This position would work out of our district office in Mesa, AZ. The CTE Director plays a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and implementing comprehensive programs and professional development initiatives within the field of Caree Technical Education. This leadership position involves overseeing the strategic development and execution of CTE programs, ensuring alignment with educational standards and industry needs.


      Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

      • Provides administrative support to the Academic Department, High School Directors, CTE staff, and to other department staff as needed.
      • Develop and implement the annual Career and Technical Education Local Needs Assessment based on requirements of state and federal laws.
      • Assist CTE teaching staff to measure and analyze performance data to improve instruction and student performance.
      • Generates and ensures accuracy of all state enrollment reporting for CTE students and programs including the state 40th and 100th day reports, student placement reporting, and any other applicable report, as assigned.
      • Prepare and submit all necessary reports as required by the LEA, State Board of Education and federal law governing Career and Technical Education (Perkins Legislation).
      • Assist in reviewing master schedule, course descriptions in catalogs, CIP codes and/or course codes, and verify alignment with Basic Grant Coherent Sequence.
      • Prepares, submits and manages the annual Carl Perkins Grant, including assuring grant guidelines and reporting requirements are met.
      • Reconcile financial records and prepare fiscal reports as required. To include reimbursement requests and required grant closing reports.
      • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations, procedures and policies.
      • Ensure procedures are established to maintain inventory control of equipment, materials and supplies in compliance with LEA procedures.
      • Evaluate available documentation for teacher certification verification and ADE compliance. Assist teachers with training and professional development opportunities to correct deficiencies, and, if needed, alternate certification plans.
      • Provide for professional development of teachers and staff inclusive of Career and Technical Education program curriculum/curriculum integration.
      • Support and promote active participation of teachers and students in Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs).
      • Support and promote industry credentialing of programs, teachers, and students.
      • Work with school administration, counselors and CTE instructors to plan, schedule and assist in the administration of all tests relevant to CTE. Such as: Industry credential/certification, and end of program Technical Skills Assessment (TSA) requirements.
      • Represent the Local Education Agency (LEA) at local and state meetings, trainings, workshops and conferences, and serve on local committees as deemed appropriate. Share information gathered for the benefit of the district.
      • Develop partnerships with key external stakeholders such as Business and Industry, Institutes of High Learning, Chamber of Commerce that advocate the value of CTE by fostering high skill, high wage, or high demand career opportunities for students.
      • Maintain and support the funding and participation in regional, state and national conferences and workshops for Career and Technical Education in compliance with Fiscal Policy.
      • Other duties as assigned.


      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field (Master's preferred)
      • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Career Technical Education or educational Administration
      • Knowledge of curriculum design instructional methodologies, and assessment practices in CTE
      • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills
      • Ability to analyze data and trends to inform decision making and drive continuous improvement
